J. Moreau Designs
brand identity design
After designing her logo system and visual elements, we dove straight into the site. For her online space we wanted to create a space that felt like a complete environment. It was important that future clients could sense her design taste and a sense of her creative, outside-of-the-box thinking.
We layered elements to create depth while solid color blocks lend modernity to the site's style. My favorite page turned out to be her services menu. Jenn offers a TON of services, so it was a design challenge to keep the page user friendly and visual. In the end we reorganized the services to fall into concise categories and then used an accordion menu to keep the page from feeling to text-heavy. Top that off with some on-brand graphics, hover effects and copper details + you have a page that is fun to interact with.
Working with Jenn for her brand and portfolio site were an absolute dream. She came in with a strong visual aesthetic- as you'd assume with another visual artist- but she needed help pulling all of the pieces together into something coherent. Her style is a blend of artsy, art deco, modern and traditional, so the brand needed to pull in elements of each.
We ended up using Jenn's s handwriting for the, which I always love since it's absolutely one of a kind! From there we worked through her seasonal color palette and personality to pull fonts and elements to seamlessly blend the aesthetics.
